Maryland Media State Poll (Week 4)

Gaithersburg debuts at No. 20 in this week’s rankings after a solid win over last week’s No. 25 Northwest. Bullis and Huntingtown are both back in the Top 25, while DeMatha, Gilman and Quince Orchard hold down the top three spots.

FREDERICK, Md. — The Maryland High School Football State Poll, in its 24th year, is based on a statewide voting by sports reporters. Schools are ranked by points received. The number in parenthesis reflects first-place votes. LW is last week’s rank. The rankings are compiled by Sheldon Shealer.

  1. Riverdale Baptist Football Team is 5 – 0!! They should be in the top 25!

    • I’m happy to see the Crusaders are off to a strong start. The coach is a great guy. But when you look at the teams Riverdale has played, it hasn’t played anyone of any state consequence that would make the voters take notice — especially since there are probably a dozen other undefeated teams not even receiving votes. Keep winning, and that might change.
